February 2012:
- YAC will be Volunteering on February 21st. with the Office on Aging- Car Fit. Car fit is a program for senior citzens to attend and get free car check up for things such as being a proper distance from the steering wheel, sat at the right height and that the turn signals work correctly.
- High School Competition will be held February 17, 2012
- Battle of the Bands will be held February 20th, 2012.
PAST EVENTS:
September 2011:
- Coachella Valley YAC members collected household items for people who were affected by Hurricane Irene.
- Blythe YAC members did a Clean-Up day at the Blythe Cemetery, where they cleared brush, trimmed low hanging branches and cleaned up the office building.
- Blythe YAC members attended Palo Verde High School’s Club Day and set up and ran their own booth and recruited new members.
October 2011:
- On October 7 YAC members hosted a fundraiser for Operation SafeHouse of the Desert at La Quinta Rubio’s.
- Blythe YAC members volunteered at the After School Party held at the Blythe Recreation Center. They played board games, sports games and helped tutor the young children.
- On Sunday, October 23 the Coachella Valley YAC members will be participating in the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce Golf Cart Parade. For more information on the Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade visit www.golfcartparade.com.
- On October 22nd, YAC Members in Blythe raised money and voluntered at the Blythe Cancer Resource Center’s Steps for the Cure, Celebration of Life event.
- Blythe YAC members also trick or treated for nonperishable food items, donated to homeless shelters located here in Blythe.YAC members in the Coachella Valley will be collecting nonperishable food and household items for homeless shelters in the Fourth District and Operation SafeHouse of the Desert.

November 2011:
- On November 5th YAC members in the Coachella Valley will be volunteering at the Desert ARC Italian Festival. For more information on this event, please visit www.desertarc.com/italian-festival.shtml.
- During the Month of November Coachella Valley YAC members will be Christmas presents for kids in foster care.
- YAC members will adopt families for Thanksgiving from the Riverside County Office on Aging Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program. YAC members will collect enough food to provide and entire Thanksgiving dinner for the adopted families. For more information on Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, please visit www.rcaging.org.
- November 11th, Blythe YAC will be volunteering the Lucas Oil I-10 Celebrity meet and greet event held by the Riverside County’s Prevent Child Abuse for more information go to www.pcariverside.org
December 2011
- On Saturday, December 3 YAC members will be volunteering at the Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade. For more information, please visit http://www.psfestivaloflights.com/.
- On Thursday and Friday, December 9 and 10 YAC will be volunteering at the Blythe Light Runner event.
- On Saturday December 17, YAC members will be volunteering at Civil Servants for Santa.

January 2012
- Blythe Cemetery Clean Up, on Saturday January 21st, YAC members invited other High School organizations to take part in a Clean up day. The volunteers raked leaves, stacked wood, and cleared grave stones.
- On January 25th, the Riverside County Youth in Government Day was held. High School students were invited to job shadow County employees for a day. High School students learned what it was like to be actively in the job field and take a peek into government itself.
